Celexa Directions? |

Take Celexa once a day, unless directed otherwise by your physician. It should be taken by mouth and can be taken either with or without food. Dosages are tailored for individual conditions and adjusted based on response to therapy. Continue taking your medication even when you start to feel better, and do not stop taking it without telling your doctor. Most people need to take their prescription for several weeks before they get the full benefit. |

Celexa Side Effects? |

Celexa may cause side effects such as drowsiness, upset stomach, diarrhea, nausea, trouble sleeping, or dry mouth. Talk to your doctor if these symptoms continue or bother you. If you have any of the following serious side effects, talk to your doctor as soon as possible: loss of appetite, unusual or severe mental/mood changes, vomiting, increased sweating/flushing, unusual fatigue, or uncontrolled movements (tremor). Serious side effects are unlikely but may include blurred vision, fever, joint pain, muscle pain, unusually fast heartbeat, decreased interest in sex, stomach pain, changes in sexual ability, weight changes, change in amount of urine, taste changes, changes in menstrual period, unusual swelling of the hands/feet/face, seizures, painful and/or prolonged erection. If you have any side effects not listed here, talk to your doctor. |

Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: liver problems, kidney problems, seizures, heart problems, other mental/mood disorders (e.g., bipolar disorder), thyroid problems, any allergies. This drug may make you dizzy or drowsy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. Caution is advised when using this product in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the drug. This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. This drug passes into breast milk. Because of the potential risk to the infant, breast-feeding while using this drug is not recommended. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. |

Celexa Drug Interactions? |

Taking Celexa with certain medications can cause potentially fatal interactions. Do not use Celexa if you have used any MAO inhibitors such as furazolidone, isocarboxazid, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, selegiline, tranylcypromine within two weeks. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist to get more information. It is not recommended for use with weight loss drugs such as sibutramine or phentermine. Your doctor should know about all medications you take, including other SSRI antidepressants (e.g., fluoxetine, sertraline), trazodone, itraconazole, tramadol, nefazodone, venlafaxine, "triptan" migraine drugs (e.g., sumatriptan, zolmitriptan), cimetidine, lithium, tricyclic antidepressants (e.g., amitriptyline, nortriptyline), macrolide antibiotics (e.g., clarithromycin, erythromycin), any herbal/ natural products (e.g., melatonin, St John's wort, ayahuasca). Your doctor also needs to know if you are taking any medications which cause drowsiness, such as medicine for sleep, sedatives, anti- anxiety drugs (e.g., diazepam), narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), tranquilizers, psychiatric medicines (e.g., phenothiazines such as chlorpromazine), muscle relaxants, anti-seizure drugs (e.g., carbamazepine), or certain antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine). Never stop or start taking any medications without your doctor's approval. |

Celexa Missed Dose? |

If you miss a Celexa dose, take it as soon as you remember, but return to your regular dosing after that. Never double your doses. |
