Loestrin Warnings? |
 |
| |
Smoking while using Loestrin increases your risk of stroke, a heart attack, blood clots, high blood pressure, or other diseases of the heart and blood vessels. If you have to take antibiotics or anticonvulsants while on Loestrin, use a back up form of birth control until your next period. These medications cause birth control pills to be less effective in preventing pregnancy. If you wear contact lenses and feel that you are developing additional vision problems, talk to your eye doctor. It's possible to develop darker patches on the facial skin. This condition is worse when exposed to the sun, so limit your sun exposure and sunlamp time. Sexually transmitted diseases can still be passed while using birth control pills. If you suspect that you may be pregnant, you should immediately stop taking Loestrin and contact your doctor. If you are breast-feeding, talk to your doctor about using this medication. It is passed in breast milk. |
