Discuss with your Medical Professional about any common cough suppressants you might be using such as (dextromethorphan), antidepressants (nefazodone, fluoxetine, paroxetine, sertraline, fluvoxamine, venlafaxine), lithium, psychiatric medications, (e.g., MAO Inhibitors such as selegiline, moclobemide, furazolidone, phenelzine, tranylcypromine).
Over the counter cold medications contain antihistamines and decongestants. Before you use any nonprescription drugs for consult your pharmacist. MAO Inhibitors and Meridia diet pills are not be taken together. If an MAO Inhibitor or Meridia drugs are stopped, wait 2 weeks before starting the other drug.
You should avoid other drugs that may increase your heart rate while using Meridia such as decongestants.
