Those who have taken Propecia report few side effects, and they occur in less than 2% of men. Propecia Warnings? |
 |
| |
Propecia is only to be used by men. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not touch Propecia tablets that are crushed or broken. The tablets are coated to prevent contact with the active ingredient, but women who are pregnant with a boy and who absorb any of the active ingredients through their skin or mouth are at risk to deliver a baby with abnormal genitals. If a pregnant woman is exposed to Propecia, talk to your doctor. |

Sexual side effects are generally temporary, but if they continue, see your doctor about them, as well as any other symptoms that you experience. Anything Else I Should Know About Propecia? |
 |
| |
You can expect to see new hair growth within a year of using Propecia. The medication helps new hair grow in regions of the scalp that are balding or thinning.
Some studies also show that Propecia can be effective in slowing the rate of hair loss. It has not been proven to help with hair loss around the hairline or on the sides of the head. It's unlikely that you will grow back all the hair that you have lost.
You must be patient when waiting to see results. Baldness occurs gradually and new hair grows an average of a half-inch per month.
You will generally need to take Propecia for at least three months before you can see any measurable improvements. In order for you to continue to grow new hair, you must continue to use Propecia. Propecia may not be effective for you if you have not seen any changes after twelve months of use.
Propecia will not treat thinning hair caused by androgenetic alopecia in postmenopausal women. Women should never use Propecia.
Do not give your medication to anyone else, or store it where children can reach it. |
