Take this medication once a day on an empty stomach take Tenuate at least 30 minutes before eat in the morning. Breaking or cutting the Tenuate tablet in half if you need to. But it's important that you Do not crush or chew Tenuate tablet. |

Report lingering side effects to a doctor as a result of your use of Tenuate. Side effects you may experience include dry mouth, agitation, nervousness, or restlessness and if experienced generally go away after a few weeks of use. If you experience any other symptom other than the ones above, you need to tell your doctor or talk with your pharmacist. |

Tenuate may impair your ability to concentrate, remember, or pay attention to important things. Everyday things such as driving a car, using the can opener, and just being physically and mentally coordinated might seem like a challenge. Do not do anything important or engage in any potentially hazardous activities until you are familiar with the drug.
Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to this medicine. Before you have any medical or dental treatments, emergency care, or surgery, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using this medicine. For women: this medicine is excreted in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby. |

Tenuate Drug Interactions? |

Do not use Tenuate while taking a monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitor, or within 14 days of taking an MAO inhibitor. Extreme high blood pressure and other side effects may occur.
Tricyclic antidepressants have been reported to enhance amphetamine effects. Using such medications in conjunction with diethylpropion may result in high blood pressure or an irregular heartbeat. This may also reduce the effects of medications intended to lower blood pressure (guanehidine).
Tenuate may modify the effects of diabetic medication, and using Tenuate in conjunction with a barbiturate may disrupt the effects of both drugs. Using sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) will minimize Tenuate elimination. Using ascorbic acid (vitamin C) will amplify Tenuate elimination.
The safety and effectiveness of Tenuate combined with SSRI's and other assorted psychotherapeutic agents has not been determined. |

Tenuate Missed Dose? |

If you are taking the immediate-release form of Tenuate, go back to your regular schedule at the next meal. If you are taking Tenuate, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If you do not remember until the next day, skip the dose. Never take 2 doses at once. |

Tenuate Storage? |

This medication needs to be stored away from light or heat, as well as moisture. Keep it at room temperature. Place this medication in a location where children cannot access it. |

Do not exceed the recommended dose of Tenuate or take this medicine for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor. Exceeding the recommended dose or taking this medicine for longer than prescribed may cause serious side effects. Before you begin taking any new medicine, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. Don't share this medication with others. |
