Triphasil Warnings? |

It may take a long time to become pregnant once you stop taking birth control pills. If you become pregnant, you should not continue to take Triphasil. The medication is excreted in breast milk and is potentially harmful to infants. Do not use this pill if you are breast-feeding. Smoking cigarettes while taking this prescription may increase your risk of negative side effects such as gallbladder disease, high blood pressure, heart attacks, strokes, vision problems, or liver tumors. Take the time to read your patient information sheets and ask questions about any point you are not clear on. Near sighted women or contact wearers may experience a change in their vision or a decreased tolerance for their lenses. Talk to your eye doctor. If you are schedule for any surgery, even dental surgery, tell your doctor that you use this medication. |

Triphasil Drug Interactions? |
 |
| |
Triphasil may occasionally cause stomach upset, so take it with food to avoid that. Taking this medication at the same time each day will help you develop the habit of taking it. Read the instructions for your medicine and follow the dosing instructions carefully. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain it to you. You should use backup birth control when first taking this medication, as it takes a week to become effective. Follow the instructions carefully if this is being used as a "morning after" pill. |

Triphasil Missed Dose? |
 |
| |
If you miss one Triphasil pill, you should take it when you realize you've missed it. Your next dose should be taken at the regular time. You may take more than one dose in a day this way. As an extra precaution, you may want to use backup birth control options until you've taken seven doses in a row again.
If you miss more than one Triphasil pill, you should take both as soon as you realize the mistake. If it's almost time for your next pill, you can take three at once. You have a higher likelihood of ovulating in this case, so you should use a backup birth control option for seven days.
If you miss three Triphasil pills, stop using your current package and throw it away. Start a new Triphasil package seven days after you took your last pill. Use a backup birth control option for seven day. You should have a period during the seven days you are not taking pills. If you don't, you may be pregnant and should take a pregnancy test before beginning a new package of pills. |

Anything Else I Should Know About Triphasil? |
 |
| |
Birth control pills contain a combination of hormones that is used to prevent ovulation (the release of an egg from an ovary). The pills contain a form of estrogen and a form of progesterone, which are both female hormones involved in conception. Birth control pills also have other effects that inhibit pregnancy. They cause the cervical mucous to thicken, which makes it harder for sperm to move toward the uterus, and they prevent the attachment of an egg to the uterus. Birth control pills are used to prevent pregnancy. |
