Zyban Uses? |
 |
| |
Zyban is a prescription for those who want to stop smoking. It's the first nicotine-free medication that helps people overcome their addiction. Since it's a prescription, it's only available from a doctor. Zyban has enabled many to finally quit smoking, even those who have been smoking for years. Since it's a pill, no one but your doctor even has to know you are using it.
The medication improves your mood. It has also been prescribed as an antidepressant or for other uses. Talk to your doctor to get more information. |

Zyban Directions? |
 |
| |
The prescription Zyban will help you feel ready to finally quit smoking. You will begin Zyban therapy, and then set a date in your second week to actually quit smoking. Most will take Zyban for approximately seven to twelve weeks. After breaking the smoking habit, continue taking Zyban for as long as your doctor tells you to.
Zyban is an oral pill. It can be taken with or without meals. Most prescriptions are for one to three tablets each day.
Never crush, chew, or split the tablets. Make sure to carefully follow the prescription instructions and ask your doctor about anything you don't understand. Zyban should be used only as directed. Do not stop using Zyban once you feel well, or without your doctor's permission. Your doctor will give you directions to stop taking Zyban over time, particularly if you have been using the medication for a longer period of time. You will need to take Zyban regularly for several weeks before the full effect is felt. |

Zyban Missed Dose? |
 |
| |
Those whose prescriptions are for more than one Zyban per day should take any forgotten doses as soon as they remember. This is true unless it is almost time for the next regularly scheduled dose, in which case you should just skip the missed dose and continue the usual dosage schedule.
Those whose prescriptions are for one Zyban tablet at bedtime should not try to make up missed doses. Never double dose - just continue with your next scheduled dose. |

Zyban Storage? |
 |
| |
Zyban, and all other medications, should stay tightly sealed in their original container. Make sure it's out of the reach of children. A proper storage location is at room temperature and away from heat and moisture found in places like kitchens and bathrooms. Don't keep pills that are expired or that you don't need. Ask your pharmacist about proper disposal techniques. |

Anything Else I Should Know About Zyban? |
 |
| |
Health insurance plans sometimes cover the costs of smoking cessation treatments. Check your policy to see if your Zyban costs can be covered. If not, it's still worth the money, since it's better for you both physically and financially in the long run. A pack a day habit costs you .095 per year, which makes Zyban a better financial choice.
Certain brain chemicals called norepinephrine and dopamine are responsible for mood. If these chemicals get out of balance, you can experience depression. Zyban works to keep these chemicals in balance and cut out the symptoms of depression. |
